Need Something Super? Blueberry Extract
Why Blueberry Extract?
Blueberries are not only superfoods, but they also have topical benefits for your skin and hair. The benefits for the skin are the very reason we chose to use blueberry extract in making our all-natural vegan oils. Blueberries are loaded with vitamin A. Vitamin A reduces wrinkles, minimizes dark spots, and other unsightly blotches as we get older. Vitamin C is another abundant vitamin in blueberries. This vitamin helps in the anti-aging fight in which we often find ourselves. Vitamin C can neutralize free radicals on our skin that we get from being outdoors and in the sun. Blueberries are also able to fight acne by controlling hormones because they are high salicylates. Salicylates are the salt of the salicylic acid. We all know that salicylic acid is one of the most widely used topical acne treatments. These salicylates have the ability to remove dead skin by opening clogged pores and inhibits harmful bacteria to make it an effective treatment. ingredient
The benefits of blueberries do not stop there; they also are great for your hair. The berries have a lot of vitamin B and proanthocyanidins which are extremely beneficial for hair. Proanthocyanidins stimulate hair growth at the follicle level. The natural chemical encourages the follicles to produce the keratin at a faster rate, which means more hair growth. Blueberries have ample amounts of B12, which is not only good for your energy but also aids in preventing those gray hairs. There isn’t any conclusive data as to how premature graying occurs in certain people, genes and Vitamin B12 deficiency are said to be the primary factors.
It is evident that blueberries are not only for consumption, but there are also a lot of topical benefits, too. But, what about blueberries as a superfood? What are the advantages? There are large amounts of non-soluble fiber, meaning it helps your digestive tract. Most people get nowhere near the recommended amount of daily fiber in their diets. In one cup of berries is only 84 calories with 4g of fiber, contents 25% of the daily recommendation of vitamin C, 36% of the recommended intake of vitamin k, and 25% of the recommended intake of manganese. These little blue gems are large amounts of antioxidants that aid in relieving stress and slow the effects of aging.
